A seamless transition for Highlands County Tax Collector
Highlands County is located in the heart of Florida with a little over 100,000 residents. The Tax Collector is an elected position in Florida and the office is responsible for collecting a variety of taxes like ad valorem, local, special levying, and state agency based taxes.

What makes Highlands County unique or special - something only locals would know or appreciate?
Highlands County is home to the historic 12 Hours of Sebring Raceway, many freshwater lakes, artistic murals, Highlands Hammock State Park, and many festivals. We were also the subject of season three of HGTV’s Home Town Takeover.
Are there any annual events, traditions, or landmarks the county is especially proud of?
The Annual 12 Hours of Sebring race and the Lake Placid Caladium Festival are key events in our County. Visitors also enjoy our Downtown Sebring area featured on HGTV.
If someone were visiting for the first time, what is something they shouldn’t miss?
I would recommend a visit to Highlands Hammock State Park and our Downtown Sebring area. Both offering history and the natural beauty found in Highlands County.
What led you to choose FREY Municipal Software for your community’s needs?
FREY Municipal offered easy to use software that met our needs as a Tax Collector’s office. Sealing the deal for us was knowing other Tax Collector’s offices around the State of Florida had a positive experience with the software.

The transition to FREY’s software has been seamless for us. We have adapted quickly and have found many uses for the standard templates in the software resulting in accurate transactions. The payables process is a vast improvement from our previous software as well. Overall, FREY is helping us stay efficient and enables us to provide accurate financial information.

FREY software is easy to use and is not riddled with excessive steps for each process. From posting a journal entry to processing a payment to a vendor, the process is straight forward and easy to follow.
