BUCS 25 Fund Accounting Software Release

The BUCS 25.0 Release is loaded with new features, improvements, and refinements. These changes come from the Annual Survey and requests submitted throughout the year. Our goal when updating BUCS is to make the system faster, more efficient, and more pleasant to use. Below are highlights of the major changes and new features found in BUCS 25.0.

1. System - The interface has been updated to feature a more modern design. Controls such as entry fields,check boxes, radio buttons, and push buttons now share a uniform appearance consistent with other applications in the Windows environment. As new Windows versions are introduced, the appearance of
   these fields will automatically adapt to align with the updated design. This enhancement has impacted almost every screen within the system. To ensure a cohesive look, screen fields have been adjusted for consistent sizing and spacing. In certain areas, screens have been redesigned to accommodate information within the designated space. Push buttons with images have been modernized to adopt a "flat" style, blending seamlessly into the screen. When the cursor hovers over a button, it becomes visible and interactive. Additionally, the Excel image has been removed from the "Excel" push buttons to preserve the native Windows aesthetic.
2. Posting Entry - There is now the ability to copy an existing Standard Journal Entry to a new Standard Journal Entry.
3. Report Parameters - The Item Help and Expression Help function key has changed from F4 to F6. This change was made because if the focus was on a combo-box, pressing F4 would drop down the combo-box and would never
   pull up the Item Help or Expression Help.
4. Fee Receipts History - A Payment Type Range has been added to the Fee Receipt History screen.
5. A/R Customer Maintenance - There is now the ability to search for a customer with Address line 1 or 2. Previously there was only the ability to search for a customer via the Name or Number.
6. Iowa Budget Reporting - A new module has been created for our Iowa users, Iowa Budget Reporting. This module gives the ability to create the file that gets submitted to the state via dom.iowa.gov. In System Controls there are fields to enter in the County and City Codes. In Fund Control there is a field to enter in the report Column number. In Chart of Accounts there are fields for on Revenue and Expense accounts to enter in the Re-Estimated amount, Line Number and for expenses a Page Number. There is a new menu item on the General Ledger menu, Iowa Budget Report Generation, that will generate the budget file. The generation program will prompt for a Budget Year. This year will be used to specify the budget year that is used in the file. The file that gets created is Budget_Update.dat.
